     CFM 56 Engine

The CFM56 product line commenced at LTAI in 1989. The first model introduced was the CFM56-3 which was at that time becoming an integral part of the Aer Lingus fleet. LTAI  secured several contracts across Europe for this engine type and became the first OEM independent shop in Europe to refurbish the CFM56-3 engine.

In 1992 the CFM56-2 engine model was added to the product portfolio.  This strategic move was in response to a niche market for engine MRO having been identified on engines fitted, primarily to cargo DC8-70 series aircraft. LTAI signed contracts with several of the leading cargo carriers in North America including DHL and Air Transport International.

The portfolio was completed in 2002 when the CFM56-7 engine which powers the New Generation Boeing 737 aircraft was introduced. LTAI now has full overhaul capability for the -7 engine type including high speed grind measurenent and machining.
